Detectives with the Meridian Police Department have charged a South Carolina man with armed robbery.
Paul William Brian Body, 46, of 210 Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, S.C., was charged late Monday afternoon.
According to a MPD press release, patrol units responded to the 1700 block of North Frontage Road around 5 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery. The alleged victim, a man, told officers a man and a woman robbed him of his cash at knifepoint.
The victim was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, according to the press release.
According to Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department jail records, Body and a female companion were taken into custody around 8 p.m. Monday. Body was charged and placed on a $100,000 bond, according to jail records. The woman who was said to have been involved has not been formally charged.
Griffith said Body is expected to appear for an initial hearing later this week.
