Armed robbery reported; suspect flees on foot

MERIDIAN —     Meridian police responded to a reported armed robbery Tuesday night.

    According to Capt. Dean L. Harper, MPD's chief of detectives, Criminal Investigations Division, police responded to the reported incident at 9:15 p.m. on the 800 block of 29th Street.

    "Upon arrival, they (police) were advised a man had been robbed in the parking lot by a young black male dressed in black and armed with a handgun," Harper said.

    The victim was unharmed and the suspect fled on foot, Harper said. No further information is available.
