Lauderdale cattleman meets with Cochran

MERIDIAN —      WASHINGTON D.C. — U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) recently met with Jeff Davis of Meridian, a Lauderdale County cattleman attending the National Cattlemen's Beef Association “Young Cattlemen’s Tour.”  Davis was selected by the Mississippi Cattlemen’s Association to take part in the tour.

Davis’ visit last week came during Senate debate on a five-year farm bill to reauthorize U.S. Department of Agriculture programs and policies for farmers and ranchers.

Cochran is the ranking Republican on the Senate Agriculture Committee that developed the Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2013, which was approved by the Senate on June 10.
