Newton County Academy will host its 41st annual Fall Fest on Saturday, Nov. 9th from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. The fundraising event, themed “The Generals are #1,” will help the private school pay for a new roof.

Boasting cake walk tables, toy toss booths, concessions and more, NCA’s Fall Fest is worked by parents, students and community volunteers.

Jamie Smith, Decatur resident and mother of K4 student Madilyn Smith, will be managing the toy toss for a portion of the evening and is looking forward to a fun-filled event: “I think NCA’s Fall Fest will be a good time for everyone. We’re helping raise money for the school and having fun in the process,” Smith said.

Donna Pace, chairman of NCA’s 2013 Fall Fest, gives insight on this year’s event: “Fall Fest is the school's biggest fundraiser. We encourage everyone to come out,” Pace said.

The event will also consist of inflatables and host a live auction, with items appealing to a diverse crowd.

“This year’s auction will include duck blinds and Christmas wreaths, and everything in between,” Pace said.

The auction will have a preview time beginning a 4 p.m.

As for the fundraising goal, Pace is confident: “Hopefully we will meet our goal this year and have our new roof.”

NCA Fall Fest will also round out the schools “30 Guns in 30 Days” campaign, where $50 raffle tickets can be purchased for a chance of winning a brand new gun. The school will begin drawing a ticket per day on Nov. 11, with someone winning a gun every day for 30 days.

Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at Fall Fest.

Admission for the festival is $1.
