MERIDIAN —     Meridian Police Department Chief James Lee said Friday afternoon detectives are trying to locate the person who called in a bomb threat late Thursday night.

At about 10 p.m. a dispatch went out to emergency responders, police officers and fire department personnel about a bomb at the Meridian Police Department on 22nd Avenue South.

"It didn't take long for us to figure out the bomb threat was just that, a threat," Lee said. "No bomb was found nor was any suspicious item located that even resembled a bomb."

The building was evacuated and checked as a precaution.

Lee said officers were allowed back inside after a sweep of the building was completed.
