Authorities search for missing teen

MERIDIAN —     Officials with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department issued a release Wednesday afternoon concerning the disappearance of a teenaged girl.

LCSD Chief Dep. Ward Calhoun said the girl, 17-year-old Tiarra Talbert of the Long Creek community has been missing since August 15. Calhoun said at this time authorities don't suspect foul play is involved in the teen's absence.

Calhoun said Talbert was reported missing by family members who told LCSD authorities the teenager was wearing a light blue shirt and dark jogging pants at the time she became missing.

"We hope someone in the area has seen this girl and will call us," Calhoun said.

If you have information pertaining to the whereabouts to Talbert, call the LCSD Criminal Investigation Division at 601-482-9893 or 601-486-4952.
