Police investigate shooting

MERIDIAN — From staff reports

    Detectives with the Meridian Police Department are investigating a Monday night shooting that left one man injured.

    Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Waterview Avenue at 11:09 p.m. to a report of shots fired, according to a MPD press release.

    When officers arrived they discovered that a black man who had been hit by gunfire was taken by private vehicle to a Meridian hospital for treatment, the press release states.

    The condition of the shooting victim or circumstances that led to the shooting were not given.

    Police said the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 601-485-1860.
