MPD investigating recent shootings

MERIDIAN —     Detectives with the Meridian Police Department are trying to find suspects in two recent shooting incidents in Meridian.

    According to a press release issued Thursday morning by MPD Lt. John Griffith, detectives are looking for a suspect in the Sunday morning shooting incident in which no one was injured.

    The release said at about 10:48 a.m. police units responded to a home located in the 3200 block of 12th Street to a report of shots being fired. When officers arrived they found where several bullets had been fired at the residence and at a vehicle parked in front of the home, the release said. The release said several of the bullets had been fired into the residence but no one was hit.

    Wednesday, around 1:10 p.m., officers were called to a report of a shooting at a residence located in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Drive. The release said officers did find where the home had been hit at least once by gunfire. The victim, according to the release, was injured due to falling while running during the incident.
