MERIDIAN —     Early morning shooting

    Around 4 a.m. Saturday, Meridian Police Department officers responded to a local Meridian hospital emergency room to interview a gunshot victim who had been shot in the hand. The man said he had been shot two hours prior while he was walking in the 3200 block of 11th Street. The victim told police a white car was driving by when he was shot.

    Saturday robbery

    At about 4:30 a. m. Saturday, Meridian Police Department officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of 23rd Street to a reported robbery. When officers arrived they met with the 76-year-old victim who stated a masked black male came into his home and robbed him by force of his money. The suspect, only described as a black male, fled the scene on foot.

    Robbery reported

    Saturday, Meridian Police Department officers responded to a strong armed robbery at a motel on North Frontage Road. The victim advised police he was robbed by two black males who were staying in the room with him. He was unable to provide a description of the suspects. The victim received minor injuries.

    Drive by shooting

    Meridian Police Department detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred Sunday around 1:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of 34th Street. The incident occurred when it was reported a small white car fired a shotgun blast at a parked vehicle at a residence in the area. No one was injured and only the vehicle was struck.
