DECATUR — Students at Newton County High School in Decatur have been evacuated from the campus following what school officials believe was a bomb threat.

Newton County Sheriff Jackie Knight said buses have taken the students off campus and that there is a trooper with the Mississippi Highway Patrol who is going through the school with a dog trained in detecting explosives.

Knight said the bomb threat originated from a note found at another school but he didn't know exactly what the note said. Knight said the evacuation was orderly and no one has been reported injured.
