The Meridian Star staff strives every day to deliver the latest, most reliable information about our community. Technology gives us many new opportunities to do that, and we are constantly evaluating our products to be as effective as possible in reaching our readers and serving our advertisers.
With that in mind, The Star is changing its print publication schedule.
As of May 6, The Star will be available on newsstands and delivered to subscribers Tuesday through Sunday. We will no longer publish a Monday edition.
The Star, of course, will continue to provide top-quality news and advertising on our website, www.meridianstar.com, and via our many digital products including mobile apps for iPhone and Droid, and mobile text alerts.
Of course, we will continue to fill the print edition with stories and photos that give you up-to-date information, context and analysis about important issues; details about local happenings; and news about your neighbors.
These changes reflect the world around us. Like newspapers everywhere, we at The Star must attune our work to the realities of our business and the demands of our readers and advertisers. Gone are the days when we printed the news once a day on paper, then put it in the hands of carriers who relayed it across the community. Today we're on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to deliver information through a variety of methods.
The challenges of today's media landscape are onerous — and exciting.
Never before have we reached so many people — through our newspaper, digital products and specialty publications.
In the coming days, we'll be in touch with our advertising customers directly affected by these developments. And, for all of our readers, we will continue to show you why we're this community's top source for local news and information.
