Law Enforcement Reports: 3-21-14

MERIDIAN — Meridian Police Department

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    • Possession of marijuana — Jeffery S. Pope, 23, 1903 9th Ave., Meridian.

    • Shoplifting — Janice D. Smith, 52, 458 CR 288, Meridian.

    • DUI — Zanthony T. Harris, 24, 1116 36th Ave., Meridian.

    • Simple assault — Cashedra L. Sherrod, 25, 2216 32nd Ave., Meridian.

    • Trespassing — Donald R. Naylor, 63, 6112 32nd St., Meridian.

    Incident Reports

    The Meridian Police Department reported the following incidents between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.  

    Commercial Burglary

    • At 8:48 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a commercial burglary in the 1600 block of College Drive.

    Stolen Vehicles

    • At 8:58 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a stolen vehicle in the 1400 block of Will Wright Road.

    • At 12:11 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a stolen vehicle in the 2900 block of St. Paul Street.     

Residential Burglary

    • At 12:34 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a burglary in the 2800 block of Elm Drive.

Lauderdale County Sheriff's       Department

      The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following arrests from 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday

    • DUI — David A. Johnson, 38, 4884 Point Wanita Lake Road, Chunky.

    • DUI — Frederick M. McDonald, 33, 2216 39th Ave., Meridian.

    

    Incident Reports

    The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department reported the following incidents from 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    Theft

    • 1000 block Sam Lackey Road, Meridian.

    • 10200 block Highway 493, Meridian.

    Assault

    • 300 block Briarwood Road, Meridian.

    DUI

    • 29th Ave. at St. Charles St., Meridian.

    • Point Wanita Lake Road, Meridian.

Mississippi Highway Patrol

    Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop H reported no arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

Marion Police Department

    The Marion Police Department reported no arrests between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

Fire Runs

    The Meridian Fire Department reported the following emergency runs between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.   

    • Medical assist, 8th Avenue

    • False alarm, 16th Street

    The volunteer fire departments reported emergency runs between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.

    • Vehicle fire, Hwy. 80 W. (Lost Gap, Meehan)

    • Brush fire, Oxford Road (Lauderdale, Toomsuba)

    • EMS, Goodhope Knox Road (Russell)

    • Assist other agency, Long Creek Road (Southeast)

    • EMS, Sportsman Circle (Toomsuba)

Ambulance Runs

    Metro Ambulance reported 34 emergency runs between 3 p.m. Wednesday and 3 p.m. Thursday.
