        • The city of Meridian and Meridian Main Street's Holiday Parade will be held in downtown Meridian beginning at 5 p.m.

"We have folks already setting up at the Riley Center for the Merry Meridian market," Meridian Main Street Executive Director John McClure said. "We have a lot going on. There is no telling how many people we will have down here."

The day's festivities will be capped off with the holiday parade in downtown Meridian. Floats will be judged prior to the parade, with prizes awarded for the best overall float, the best commercial float and the best noncommercial float.

Float winners will meet at the intersection of 22nd Avenue and 14th Street in the Medical Arts Surgical Group parking lot, where prizes will be awarded by Meridian Mayor Cherri Barry.
