This year Thanksgiving will be very special. My husband passed away Oct. 22, 2012. In August 2011, I moved to North Carolina. My son lives there.
I was there a year and three months and did not like it. It was not my hometown of Meridian.
People badmouth Meridian all the time. Well, to me, there's no place like home, like Dorothy in the "Wizard of Oz" said.
So this Thanksgiving, I will be here in Meridian where I belong.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
First of all, I am thankful for my family who has been my pride and joy.
Secondly, is the place I live, the Aldersgate Retirement Community.
Basically, Aldersgate is a community of Christians who enjoy a variety of Christian-based activities. Among our many activities is our Monday afternoon prayer group ministry in which we pray for ourselves and for others beyond Aldersgate.
We have exercise for our physical bodies and spiritual lessons for our souls. We love and uphold each other in this place we call home … goodness gracious, what a great place to live!
First I want to thank God.
I am very thankful just for being here.
I am thankful for my family and their families.
I am thankful that we all are fine.
I am thankful for my mother, and that she is doing fine, especially during the time of Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey.
God is good. I am thankful for him for taking care of everyone; there may not be a lot of material things, but I am thankful just to be here.
I am so thankful, not just for Thanksgiving, but every day.
I know I can’t thank God enough for all his blessings. I have so much to be thankful for, I cannot name them all.
I just want to say I am so thankful, thankful just to be here. The most important thing I am thankful for is to have God in my life, I am so thankful for him.
