MERIDIAN — Editor's Note: The Meridian Star asked readers to tell us what they are thankful for on this day of Thanksgiving. Numerous readers responded. This is what they had to say:
I am thankful for God's love to everyone and for my family and me having a home and food.
Most of all I am thankful for the good things and bad things. My Nana says the good things make me better and the bad things make me stronger in God.
And for that I am very thankful.

I am thankful for God, family and freedom.
I am thankful for everything. I am thankful for my mother Shatagia Bell teaching me everyday life and everyday life in high school.
I am also thankful for my father Russell Bell for being there for me. I will like to be thankful this Thanksgiving for both of my parents being here, and not dead.
I will also like to thank my friend Anthony Overstreet for always being there when I needed him most. He's a really great friend. When I was sick he prayed for me to get better. I really admire that.
I really admire my parents for being there all my life.
That is what I am thankful for.

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for my family, my home and my kitty cats. I am thankful for my loving family because they always support me when I am in plays, tennis tournaments, school events, chorus groups, and dance competitions.
For example: One time I was about to perform my first solo on a big stage at dance competition. I was really nervous. Luckily, my Mama was backstage with me. My Dada was in the audience ready to cheer me on, but I knew he was there in my heart to guide me.
I am also thankful for my awesome grandparents, which are a very big part of my life. For example: When I am sick, Gin and Kenny are always there to take care of me. When my parents go to a party, they always keep me, and we have way more fun than my parents.
I am thankful for my cheerful and comfortable home which could have burned down when our water heater shorted out. I am thankful for my school, Poplar Springs Elementary. My nice and kind teachers help me learn and make good grades.
I am thankful for my fluffy and humongous cats, Tee Dee and Callieo, because they make my life fuller and richer. Every night they watch over me as I sleep and they make each day an adventure. For example: Sometimes my cats hide and it is an adventure to find their clever hiding places.
The most important thing I am thankful for this year is God. God gave me all the things I am thankful for, and he made me who I am today. That is what I am thankful for this Thanksgiving Day.
