Food Drive

Special to The Star
The Meridian Star

MERIDIAN — Christina Sciple of Scooba, a sophomore at East Mississippi Community College, packs up canned goods for LOVE’s Kitchen in Meridian and the St. Jude Ronald McDonald House in Memphis, Tenn. Sciple is a Business Office Technology major and plans to graduate in May with two specializations, Office Assistant and Health Care Data Technology. She is a member of EMCC’s Phi Beta Lambda chapter, a professional business organization on campus, and organized the canned food drive as part of a PBL project. She chose LOVE’s Kitchen for its mission to feed the hungry. The choice of the Ronald McDonald House comes from her acquaintance with Scott Carter, who has visited EMCC’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes as a speaker, and whose 4-year-old son is being treated in Memphis. More holiday canned food drives are in progress at EMCC’s Scooba campus. For more information, call Events Coordinator Kate Neely McCarty at (662) 476-5035.
