Civil rights conference Sunday

MERIDIAN —     A civil rights conference opens on Sunday with services at Meridian City Hall.

    Dr. Keith Dwight Parker, a Philadelphia native and a professor of sociology at the University of Georgia is heading up the conference. Speakers for the three day conference include Angela Lewis, daughter of slain civil rights worker James Chaney; Flonzie Brown-Wright, Neddie Winters, Jeff Steinberg, and Joan Sadoff.

    The Sunday service at City Hall will begin at 6 p.m. The remainder of the conference will take place at the MSU Riley Center on Monday and Tuesday.
