MPD searching for robbery suspect

MERIDIAN —     A man Meridian Police Department officials say robbed a woman at gunpoint in Meridian is being sought.

    The incident reportedly occurred at about 11 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of 18th Street and 10th Avenue, say MPD authorities.

    Capt. Dean Harper, commander of the department's Criminal Investigation Division, says the woman was approached by a man as she pulled up to the intersection.

    The victim reported the suspect, described as black and wearing a mask of some type, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from her. After she handed over her cash, the victim stated to detectives the suspect fled on foot.

    Harper said no other description of the suspect was available. He says the victim was unhurt.
