MERIDIAN —     Meridian Police Department detectives are still trying to find two people who reportedly exchanged gunfire on the night of July 4.

MPD Capt. Dean Harper, commander of the department's Criminal Investigation Division, says no one in the immediate area of the shooting incident that took place on 30th Avenue, has come forward with any information that would help authorities find the two men.

Harper said the only information they have been able to obtain about the suspects is that it was two young black men who shot at each other.

Harper said two homes were hit by the bullets that whizzed through the neighborhood. One home was occupied by an adult and three children.

No one was hit by the bullets, Harper said.

Police urge anyone with information to please call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.
