MPD probing two robbery reports

MERIDIAN —     Detectives with the Meridian Police Department are investigating robbery incidents that reportedly occurred recently in Meridian.

    At 5:36 a.m. Friday, police responded to a report of a strong armed robbery call at Magnolia Courts. Upon arrival police were advised by the victim he had been hit over the head by someone and robbed of his wallet. The victim received minor injuries and the suspect ran away on foot with no description available.

    Saturday at 3:37 a.m., police responded to an armed robbery of the Exxon station in the 300 block of Highway 19 North. Upon arrival officers were advised by the clerk that he was robbed by two black males at gunpoint. The suspects fled on foot and the victim was unharmed. No descriptions available.

    Monday morning, another armed robbery incident was reported at that same location. During that incident, which was reported to police shortly before 1 a.m., officers were told by the clerk a black man with his face covered up to hide his features entered the store and tried to rob the clerk at gunpoint. The clerk told officers the man, for reasons unknown, fled before the robbery was complete. The clerk could not provide an accurate description of the suspect.

    Later Monday, at about 11:50 a.m., police responded to the area of 46th Avenue and Eighth Street to a report of a man being robbed by two individuals.

    Officers were advised by the alleged victim he gave two black men a ride and during the ride the two men turned on him. The victim told officers he was robbed by force by the two men and that the suspects exited the vehicle and ran away on foot.
