Mom seizes college opportunity

MERIDIAN —     After waiting for her children to get their college degrees, Rose M. Hampton seized the opportunity to go back to college.

On Friday evening, she reaped the reward of persistence. She received her associate in applied science degree in Business and Office Technology Program from Meridian Community College.

Working for a little more than 31 years for a large company, Hampton said, “I’ve been through the corporate changes, buy backs and breakups.” So when she retired, she wanted to try something else.

“I liked my course of study,” the 58-year-old Meridianite said. “You’re never too old to learn. Go for the best.”
