MERIDIAN —     The Better Business Bureau serving Mississippi issued a nationwide alert Thursday warning residents to beware of a Meridian based online auto parts dealer.

According to a press release issued by BBB, CorvetteSouth has received more than 15 complaints in the last three months from consumers across the country.

"Complaints against CorvetteSouth, which sells corvette parts and accessories through its website www.corvettesouth.com, have come from consumers in 13 different states and one in Canada," according to the press release.

Complaints filed with the BBB accuse the online company of not delivering auto parts or accessories that were purchased, failing to issue refunds or parts exchanges and not resolving customer service issues, officials said.

"Consumers also report contacting the company multiple times either by e-mail, letter or phone and receive no response," according to the press release. "They also report difficulty in obtaining refunds after their credit card was charged."

According to the company website, CorvetteSouth is located at 1422 Tenth Avenue in Meridian. The building is located in what appears to be a private home.

A man who came to the door Thursday identified himself as the owner of CorvetteSouth but declined to give his name or make a statement when asked about the BBB's allegations against the company.

A certification of formation document filed with the Mississippi Secretary of State lists a Kevin Williams as a member of the limited liability corporation, which was created on March 21, 2011.

BBB officials stated in the press release that they sent requests to CorvetteSouth asking that unresolved complaints be addressed.

“CorvetteSouth has failed to resolve the underlying reasons for the complaints,” said Beth Sheppard, BBB director of Trade Standards.

A consumer from Florida alleges she ordered $6,000 in parts and did not receive any of her merchandise.

The woman told BBB that "CorvetteSouth has not answered my e-mails or phone calls in over two weeks, but charged me for parts I have not received," according to the press release

Another customer told BBB officials that CorvetteSouth took money out of his account before confirming that parts ordered had been shipped and that none of the parts arrived despite an e-mail sent to the company and several voices messages that were left, the press release states.

BBB officials said they have given CorvetteSouth an "F" rating.

The company's Facebook page state's, "Southern hospitality is not an outdated concept at CorvetteSouth. We hope you'll appreciate our personal touch, along with our honesty and reliability."
