'Sell Your Boat Event' to benefit charity

MERIDIAN —     Meridian Outboard will hold its annual "Sell Your Boat Event" from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, with all proceeds benefitting Camp Eagle Ridge in Collinsville.

Camp Eagle Ridge is a nonprofit camp that works with children of all ages to teach them that through hard work and perseverance they can obtain a college education.

"This one day event was created to help boaters wishing to sell their boats to meet with those wishing to buy a boat while at the same time benefitting a local charitable cause," according to a press release.

Boat owners wishing to sell a boat at the event can park their boat on the Meridian Outboard lot for $25 per boat. Meridian Outboard is located at 8000 Highway 45 North in Meridian.

All sales transactions will be between the boat owner and buyer.

"Last year we had 23 boats entered, with eight of them selling and this year we are hoping for twice that number," the press release states.

Gates open at 10 a.m. to the general public. Those wishing to sell a boat are asked to arrive at 8 a.m. Admission to the public is free.

Meridian Outboard is located on Highway 45 about five miles north of the Interstate 20/59 intersection on the east side of the road past the flea market and antique stores.
