MERIDIAN —     A suspect in an early Tuesday morning armed robbery by a man dressed in drag was arrested Wednesday and is in jail.

Meridian Police Department Capt. Dean Harper, commander of the MPD's Criminal Investigation Division, said Thursday afternoon that Ladderrick Q. Rencher, 37 of Meridian, was arrested by members of the department's patrol, detective and Direct Action Response Team (DART) unit without incident. Rencher was placed on $50,000 bond for armed robbery.

Just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, Rencher, said to have been dressed in drag, allegedly entered the Cefco on Highway 39 North and robbed the clerk by force.
