MERIDIAN —     Fans of the vampire series, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" are ready for the film to open this week and United Blood Services in Meridian is hoping to capitalize on the interest young people have in the movie.

In hopes of getting young movie fans to donate blood, UBS is scheduling a blood drive for Friday at United Artists Bonita Lakes 9 at Bonita Lakes Mall. It coincides with the opening weekend of the Twilight Saga film, according to Donald Clark, donor recruitment supervisor in the Meridian area.

"If you donate at the theater on Friday," Clark said, "the first 20 successful donors will get a T-shirt and a movie ticket."

Donors after the first 20 will still get a T-shirt.

Donors who are 16 years old must have a consent form signed by a parent. Donors 17 and older do not, but there are specific height and weight requirements for donors aged 16-22.

"We are trying to get 30 donors Friday," Clark said.

"Breaking Dawn Part 2" T-shirts will be available as supplies last, according to Clark.

The Bonita Lakes movie cinema is located at 1680 Bonita Lakes Drive, Meridian. The UBS blood drive will be held there Friday, 3-8 p.m.

For more information about the blood drive and height and weight requirements, call UBS at (601) 482-2482.
