Ellisville man dies in morning crash

MERIDIAN —     An Ellisville man and his brother were involved in a one-vehicle crash early Thursday morning that claimed the life of the younger sibling.

Sgt. Andy West, public information officer for Troop H of the Mississippi Highway Patrol in Meridian, said 30-year-old Timothy O. East, of 19 Purvis Airport Road in Ellisville, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash that occurred at about 4:30 a.m.

West said East, and his brother, Christopher East, 32, also of Ellisville, were traveling north on Interstate 59 at the North Enterprise exit at mile marker 136 when the 2005 Dodge Durango Timothy East was driving left the roadway and struck a concrete bridge pillar. The impact of the crash, according to West, was on the driver's side door.

West said the two men, who are employees at the Kemper County Coal Plant, were wearing seat belts at the time of the wreck.

West said Christopher East was transported to Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian with non-life threatening injuries.
