Deputies excavating site of bones

MERIDIAN —     Deputies with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department and members of the agency's crime lab are excavating two sites in the 7600 block of Espy Road where possible bones have been discovered, according to a Meridian Star reporter on scene.

    Officials have been on scene since midmorning and at about noon began excavating the sites to determine if they contain human remains or not.

    Officials on scene have not released any information at this time.

    The sites are located in a wooded area behind some mobile homes.

    More information will be released as it becomes available.
