Cirque Ziva show at MCC set April 4

MERIDIAN —     Described as fast-paced fun for the family, Cirque Ziva, performed by the fabled Golden Dragon Acrobats, will perform Thursday, April 4, at 7 p.m. as a part of Meridian Community College’s Foundation’s special tribute to the College’s 75th anniversary.

The performance will take place in the Temple Theater. Tickets are $10 per person. Ticket information is available by calling 601-484-8696.

Combining astonishing acrobatics, vibrant costumes and spectacular sets, Cirque Zíva drives each performance with vivid zeal, according to a press release. The young 20-person cast presents an array of centuries-old Chinese acrobatic arts that will surprise and dazzle - juggling hats, balancing cups, spinning plates  and diving through hoops.

Cirque Zíva is the latest project from seasoned director Danny Chang. His eye-catching, breath-taking, and fast-paced show will energize audience members of all ages. The show, with its powerful music, simple themes and explosive choreography that transcends culture offers a bounty of visuals for a more sophisticated audience as well.

“There’s a precision and beauty about everything these performers do,” a reviewer from The Washington Post said.
