Perry charged with homicide

MERIDIAN —     Meridian police have arrested and charged a local man with homicide for a shooting incident from December 2012.

Devon Perry of Meridian, 21, was charged Wednesday for the homicide shooting of Rocdrekious Bourdeaux, 21, of Meridian. Perry also has been charged with weapon possession by a convicted felon.

On Dec. 26, 2012, Meridian police responded to a shooting call at Club VIP on B Street. According to Capt. Dean L. Harper, MPD's chief of detectives, Criminal Investigations Division, upon police's arrival, they found four people had been shot with one, Bourdeaux, deceased.

Bourdeaux died from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. The three other people shot were hit by bullets in the running gunfire that extended from the 2000 block of B Street to the 1800 block.

Harper said police have worked on the case when new evidence or information became available.

Bond has been denied to Perry, who was already out on a previous felony charge.
