Man convicted of murder

    William Michael Jordan was convicted Thursday afternoon of the 2012 murder of Aaron Marcus Coleman.

    Jordan was also convicted of felon in possession of a firearm.

    Coleman, 21, of Meridian, was last seen alive sometime on the night of February 27, 2012, a Sunday, and was reported missing to authorities at the Meridian Police Department by his mother, Robin Campbell, the following Monday.

    Coleman's car was found by a motorist Thursday, March 3, 2012 on Kewanee Road, which prompted several searches by law enforcement.

    Local law enforcement authorities were called to an area of Interstate 20 on the eastbound side to a report of a body being found. It was reported hours later the body was that of Coleman.

    A motorist whose vehicle had broken down in the area is said to have discovered the body and called authorities.

    Jordan was arrested and charged.

    There was no information available Thursday as to Jordan's sentencing date.
