Local man graduates military academy

MERIDIAN —     Garrison M. White graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy & College recently in Wayne, Pa.

    At Valley Forge, White earned an associate degree in Life Sciences.

    White received the Order of Anthony Wayne Award and was also selected as one of the top 10 outstanding cadets. He served as Provost Marshall before being promoted to Regimental Executive Officer, 2nd Captain. He also served as captain of the Honors Council.

    White plans to complete his degree at Mississippi State University and pursue a career in forestry.

    While enrolled at Valley Forge, White volunteered for several organizations including the American Red Cross during Hurricane Irene and Super storm Sandy relief efforts.

    White is the son of Michael and Danette White of Meridian. He is a 2011 graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School.
