College for Kids at MCC

MERIDIAN —     More than 600 children are registered to participate this year in Meridian Community College's College for Kids.

    Now in its 16th year, College for Kids is offering 37 classes in a two-week period this year, from June 3-7 and June 10-14. Participants selected from a wide variety of classes ranging in arts, sports, dance, beauty, healthcare, and outdoor, among many others.

     “We have a great group of kids this year and some really fantastic classes,” said Program Director Tanya Thompson. “We try to bring new and exciting things to College for Kids each year that keep up with today’s trends, for example this week we have Interior Design: Do-It-Yourself, CSI: Meridian, and Crowns, Gowns, and Runways."

    Area youth selected from a number of classes including: All About Animals, Around the World, Balloon Art, Basketball, CSI: Meridian, Cake Decorating, Cheerleading, Clay Sculpture, Computer Wizards, Crazy Creativity, Creepy Crawly Creatures, Crowns, Gowns, & Runways, Electronics, Fossils: Dig It!, Football 101, Garden Delights, Golf, Go Van Gogh!, Guitar, Hair, Nails & More!, Hair Braiding, Hip Hop/Contemporary Dance, Interior Design: Do-It-Yourself, Jewelry Creations, Jr. Firefighter Academy, Jr. Police Academy, Lego Mania, Mad Science, Magic Show, Nursing, Performing Arts, SPA-LA-LA, Scrapbooking Plus, Tennis, Wacky Sports, Woodworking, and ZOOM: Rocket Science.
