Rigs cause traffic clog

Two westbound 18-wheelers had traffic backed up near the 29th Avenue area of I-20/59 Thursday after they bumped into each other at about 1 p.m.

No one was injured and the two rigs sustained only minor damage but the sheer size of the rigs took up one lane of the interstate slowing traffic down to almost a complete stop.

Patrolmen with the Meridian Police Department arrived on the scene to direct traffic until the wreck scene could be cleared.
