Former Mississippi Gov. Ronnie Musgrove will visit Meridian today as he campaigns for the senate seat vacated by Trent Lott last year. Musgrove, a Democrat, is running against Republican U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, who was appointed to Lott's post by Gov. Haley Barbour upon Lott's retirement.
Musgrove will tour the Lauderdale County Courthouse at 10 a.m., where he will meet and greet with voters. He will then tour Rush Foundation Hospital at 11 a.m., where he will talk with local doctors.
Musgrove's campaign said he will discuss the need to adjust spending in Washington.
