Errol sighting reported

An Errol sighting was reported Wednesday.

The Irish Wolfhound that bounded away from his owner after a one-car crash in Meridian on the Fourth of July, was reportedly sighted along Highway 19 South, across from Carmel Baptist Church.

Errol's owner, Destiny Burge, 19, was injured in the wreck. She returned to her home in Hope, Ark., Wednesday, after being released from Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.

Other friends and family members are coming from Arkansas and Louisiana to continue the search for her beloved dog.

Destiny's mother, Donna Hinkle, said she received a call to report the sighting of Errol at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. But, it took her 40 minutes to get to the location and Errol was not found.

"By that time in this heat dogs aren't going to be moving. They will stay out of the sun to keep cool," Hinkle said.

She also put out more lost dog posters in the area of the sighting. One report stated that Errol appeared to be OK and that he was running with two other dogs.
