Ryan Gray graduated from the University of Texas at Austin on May 23, with a PhD in molecular and cell biology.
He will do post-doctorate work at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
Gray was a student at St. Patrick's and Poplar Springs Drive Elementary Schools and Meridian High School.
His parents are Don Gray of Meridian and Helen Gray of Kemah, Texas.
