Sweet Fundraiser

— Barbara Holyfield, left, candy/coin box chair of the Meridian First Ladies Civitan Club, presents a plaque to Diane Trammell, owner of Jean's Restaurant on Front Street. Trammell has allowed the club to place a candy box at the cash register in the restaurant for donations from customers. Funds from the donations help support Special Olympics, Development Disability classes at Northeast and West Lauderdale High Schools, the Civitan Research Center at the University of Alabama and various other organizations in the Meridian area.
