Tickets are still available for the East Mississippi Business Development Corporation's presentation, "A Night on Broadway," at the MSU Riley Center scheduled to be held on Friday, June 27, at 8 p.m.
Laurie Gayle Stephenson and Steve Amerson are the featured performers. They will be accompanied by the Meridian Symphony Orchestra.
Stephenson starred for two years on Broadway as Christine Daae in "Phantom of the Opera." She made her Broadway debut in the Tony award-winning "The Secret Garden," where she performed the role of Lily. She was an original cast member of "The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber In Concert." She toured the U.S. singing opposite Michael Crawford and made her debut in London’s West End at the Palladium with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Amerson is considered "America’s Tenor." Along with his many music ministry concerts, Amerson's voice can be heard on more than 150 feature films including "Evan Almighty," "Get Smart," and "King Kong." Amerson has been a featured soloist with virtually every major performing organization in Southern California making numerous appearances at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the Hollywood Bowl. He has been a featured soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles master Chorale, and scores of orchestras across the United States and Mexico.
