Authorities with the Meridian Police Department are asking for public assistance in locating a 17-year old black female who has been reported missing by relatives.
MPD Capt. James Shapre said law enforcement officials are trying to get information on the whereabouts of Lashandra Williams who was last seen in Meridian on Jan. 5, 2009. Information so far places Williams in the area of 22nd Avenue and 24th Street.
"Since the time when she was first reported missing, we had reports she was seen in Jones County as well as in Jasper and Clarke counties," said Sharpe in a press release Tuesday. "But we still haven't been able to locate her and we are asking the public to help us out."
Williams stands about 5'6" and weighs around 130 pounds. She has black shoulder length hair, which may be in braids and/or highlighted.
Williams was aired as missing sometime in late January to early February of this year.
If you have information pertaining to the whereabouts of Williams you are urged to contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
