Cars will be on parade this weekend as the Dixie Hot Rodders prepare to hold its 6th annual car show at the Best Western on South Frontage Road.
With participants coming from Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana, organizers are expecting to have between 200-250 entrants.
“We have people coming in Thursday through Saturday,” said Johnny Knochenmuss. “Registration starts today (at 8 a.m.) at the Best Western and on Saturday (beginning at 11 a.m.) we are going to have people drive their cars around Meridian. We will drive out to the Causeyville store, through North Hills, by the Jimmie Rogers Museum and the Carousel, and make a big loop around Meridian.”
Driving won’t be the only thing participants will do, however. There will be 60 plaques awarded on Saturday, as well as door and cash prizes.
“There’s no entry fee for spectators,” said Knochenmuss. “But it will cost you $25 to enter a car, and it has to be at least 25 years old.”
