Patrol officers with the Meridian Police Department's Motorcycle Unit brought home trophies recently as they competed with other motorcycle officers in the Great Southern Motorcycle Expo in Jackson. Pictured are, from left, MPD Patrol Division Operations Commander Capt. Jeff Lewis, Sr. Patrolman, Savanneo Terrell, Sr. Patrolman Tommie Coker and MPD Lt. Buck Roberts. Coker placed first in the competition while Terrell placed fourth. Two other officers, not pictured, Cpl. Donald Jenkins and Sr. Patrolman Howard Cole placed second and third respectively. The MPD officers competed against motorcycle units from Jackson, the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Brandon, Madison, Louisville and the Rankin and Lamar County sheriff departments. The MPD Unit is preparing for another competition in Gulfport in a week.
