Meridian resident Daniel Crouch says that while he's been in Meridian for most of his life, he did move a few times growing up.
"We've made a circle," he said.
Crouch was born in Meridian, Miss., moved to Forest, Miss., then to Union, Miss., back to Forest and finally back to Meridian.
Crouch spends most of his time as a staff member at Midway Baptist Church.
"My super special spiritual title is the Minister to Children and Students at Midway Baptist Church," Crouch said. "I am a student pastor because I believe in the younger generation. Students are not the future of the Church, they are the Church present, and they can change the world with the love and way of Jesus."
Crouch feels he is on the right path for his life, but admits it was not the original plan.
"Ever since I've felt called to do what I'm doing now that's been my direction," he said. "But before then, my plans out of high school ranged from becoming a lawyer to an electronics technician."
When he's not busy with ministry work, Crouch is happy doing a wide range of activities.
"I enjoy any type of outdoor activity especially hiking and camping. I also enjoy reading, learning, technology, and using my abilities to do anything that requires creativity," Crouch explained.
Amidst everything going on, Crouch does have a person he said he can rely on no matter what the situation.
"I married the most beautiful and excellent woman that the world has to offer two years ago," he said of his wife, Melissa, who is a mathematics instructor at Meridian High School and the girls’ soccer coach. "We enjoy spending time with one another as much as we can between our two jobs."
Crouch never knows what tomorrow will bring but he does know one thing for certain: "Wherever God has us at that time, we will follow where ever he leads," Crouch said.
