JACKSON (AP) — President Bush issued a disaster declaration for four Mississippi counties hit hard by storms and flooding.
The move makes federal funding available to for some people in Bolivar, Warren, Washington and Wilkinson counties.
The Bush administration said in a news release that federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation statewide.
Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.
