Except for a home damaged by a fallen tree on Ball Diamond Road in extreme northwest Lauderdale County there was no other reported property damage as a result of a line of thunderstorms that moved through the area earlier today.
The strongest part of the line that hit Lauderdale County seemed to be confined to the northwest corner of the county as it moved from Newton County toward Kemper County.
The storm did bring with it some gusting winds, some of which were clocked at 60 mph in the Bailey and Martin communities at about 1:45 p.m. But no real damage was reported. Heavy rain did inundate the area creating some localized flooding.
In Meridian a tree fell across 10th Avenue in the 3800 block area bringing with it a utility pole. Power crews are working to remove the tree and replace the pole.
There were no reports of injuries in Lauderdale County.
