Thirteen local high school young ladies made their formal debut into society at the recent 29th Annual Debutante Ball.
Sponsored by Meridian Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., the ball was the culmination of several months of preparation – including giving back through community service projects and participation in workshops on self-esteem and awareness, etiquette, career and goal setting, physical fitness and teen dating violence.Debutantes are selected based on academic achievement, school and community activities and high moral conduct/behavior.
