Enjoying the last days of the winter

MERIDIAN — While the winter still remained on the inside, residents at Golden Living Center enjoyed a great game of bowling, with only team to take the victory. Everyone usually enjoys cheering and knocking down the pins.

Golden Living staff hosted a birthday party for the February babies; anyone who enjoys ice cream cake is always invited. The birthday celebration is a great surprise to see who is the youngest (lol.. at heart, oldest in ages).

The Bailey ladies devotion on Tuesday, thanks to them for wanting to come and be with us. Rev. David Nelson and Alice and Earline help keep our Wednesday busy with quizzes, weekly stories, and treats to eat after it all. Hebron Baptist and friends and residents enjoy the guitar singing and devotion with Dr. Wallace.

Bingo, bingo, bingo are the winning sounds, congratulation to Louise D. on her overall single victory, we can say she left with the money. Many others won for the month in a shared victory, Sally G., Betty D., Barbara T., and Carol H. What a way to win, ladies!

Valentine's Day social residents dressed in their red and white to enjoy the music and laughter with all the good refreshments, some family members join us to share in the fun.

The residents were so glad to have the Dirt Road Band return, including Hoppy Spinks and two new members.

Another return for the annual bingo the Lauderdale Club to entertain the residents by playing bingo. They brought lots of prizes and they let each one bingo as many times as they could. The residents really enjoyed this and they served refreshments, and we all like to eat. Ha.

Fitkins Memorial comes on Saturday and the 39th Church of Christ service is on Sunday to help our month end in a great way, along with our cookie lady coming and the aroma went up all the halls, residents enjoyed the cookies with coffee or cake.

We appreciate all who help to make the residents at Golden Living days enjoyable, it means so much, we hope that same enjoyment flows back to everyone.

    • Sallie Gray, a longtime 4-H leader and community development club member, is now a resident of Golden Living Center.
