After-school art sessions return to Meridian Museum of Art

MERIDIAN —     School of Art After School Sessions is returning to Meridian Museum of Art.

    The popular series will begin Jan. 28 at the downtown art gallery. According to Kate Cherry, executive director of the MMA, all classes will offer progressive, skill-based art lessons in a studio setting. 

    "Students will receive instruction one day a week at the museum from a highly qualified art instructor," Terry said.

     Classes will be offered for K-12 grades and are limited to 10 students per class, with a minimum of six students. The 12-week session offers building skill levels in drawing, painting and multi-media. 

    The registration fee per year is $10 and each 12-week session cost is $150, for a total of $160, which includes all expenses for art materials used in class.

    The Jan. 28-April 24 class schedule is as follows:

    • Tuesday – 4th-6th Grade, from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.

    • Tuesday – 7th-12th Grade, from 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

    • Thursday – K-3rd Grade, from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.
