Hickory MHV Club

MERIDIAN —     Hickory MHV Club met at the fellowship hall of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church for the November meeting

    Daisy Nichols presided at the Nov. 9, 2013, meet. ”Let Your Light Shine” was the devotional song; prayer was presented by Charles Curry Jr. 

    During the business session, roll, minutes,and council reports were read by the Leora Chapman, secretary.  All were approved as read.

     The club donated a large number of items to the Salvation Army; Nichols distributed stockings to members 

    Three Hickory MHV Club members attended the Newton County Council meeting, which was held Oct. 25. 

    It was noted that all Hickory MHV Club members’ dues have been submitted to the Lauderdale County Extension Service, along with the names of the officers for 2014. 

    Leora Chapman attended the Southeast Area 4-H Convention in Eatonton, Ga., and returned with new ideas for the Newton County 4-H.

     Volunteer leaders and Chapman entered three recipes in the Meridian Star's Holiday Cookbook, which published in October 2013. 

    The club discussed remaining projects, as well as the Christmas social scheduled in December.

     The meeting closed with members reciting the MHV Creed.
