MERIDIAN —     Causeyville Community Development Club members worked on a "Sunshine Basket" at the club's May meeting.

Sunshine baskets are cheerful baskets usually filled with bright flowers and an assortment of fun and tasty treats.

The meeting was called to order with prayer by Joanne Culpepper, vice president, who also presented a devotional based on Psalm 27: 7 & 8: "Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek."

During the business session, the minutes and financial statement were presented by Mattie Downey, secretary/treasurer. Both were approved as read.

Yard of the Month was awarded to Norma Jean Williams. It was also noted that Causeyville was represented at Russell CDC’s annual Sponsors and Clubs Supper.

Culpepper presented information about “Soles 4 Souls” and local efforts to collect shoes for the organization. Shoes collected by Soles 4 Souls are given to help people in need around the world.

All members present were eager to participate in this effort, as well as to enlist the help of others for collection and delivery to the local drop-off site within the coming week.
