MERIDIAN — Sincerely, Gayland Frazier, Marion

Thank you for your support

Thanks to all our family and friends who participated in the Benefit Rummage Sale on Oct. 12 for Benny Eggler.

The sale was a success and all funds will be used to pay medical expenses incurred during Benny's CA treatment at UAB Birmingham.

We also thank our many friends in Meridian for their thoughts, prayers, cards and gifts during this difficult time.

    God bless each of you.

Jan and Benny Eggler B

Fixing Obamacare is

president's responsibility

I am writing to express my opinion on the Obamacare fiasco, as well as to point out what I feel is a simple remedy to the situation.

The first thing that needs to be done to show what the president really thought when he said he simply misspoke about health care plans that people already have being able to be kept.

Simply, he needs to issue an executive order rescinding Obamacare and giving the Congress a new Affordable Care Act that is clearly understood so that the Congress can read it, then vote on it as required by the Constitution, not passing it and then reading it, which led to our current situation.

The second thing that this requires is putting everything regarding putting the bill into effect on hold pending passage of a new clearly written bill being passed. This will enable the correction of the computer situation, as well as other problems.

This is necessary because as anyone who has served in the military knows, the leader alone is responsible. Therefore it is incumbent on him to correct the situation.

    Sincerely,

Robert J. Perna, SSG USA (Ret.)
